What we do
Support across every part of daily life
Every person's needs are different. We work with you, your family, and your broader support team to deliver the right level of assistance.
Domestic Assistance
Cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, laundry, ironing, dishwashing, and maintaining a safe and tidy home environment.
Household Tasks
Meal preparation, grocery assistance, bin management, and everyday household tasks that keep life running smoothly.
Personal Care
Dressing, grooming, continence support, and personal hygiene — delivered with dignity and respect, always.
Medication Assistance
Prompting and assistance with self-administered medications as part of a safe daily living routine.
Showering & ADLs
Showering, bathing, and activities of daily living (ADLs) carried out safely, comfortably, and at your pace.
Manual Handling
Safe and trained manual handling support for transfers, repositioning, and mobility — in line with your care plan and any OT recommendations.
Supported Independent Living (SIL)
Active support for participants living in their own home — helping you build daily living skills, maintain routines, and live as independently as possible.
Supported Independent Living
Your support. Your home. Your way.
Yellowbird delivers Supported Independent Living support for NDIS participants living in their own home. We work alongside you to build skills, maintain daily routines, and live as independently as possible — on your terms.
What SIL support with Yellowbird looks like
Consistent support workers who understand your routines and preferences
Active support — doing things with you, not just for you
Help with daily living skills including cooking, cleaning, and personal care
Building your independence and capacity over time
Flexible rostering that fits around your life, not a rigid schedule
Strong communication with your support network, family, and SIL provider (if applicable)
Working within any behaviour support plan or OT recommendations
We are a support provider, not an accommodation provider
Yellowbird does not own or manage SIL accommodation. We specialise in delivering the support component of SIL — the skilled, person-centred workers who come into your home and help you live well.
This means you can choose Yellowbird as your support provider regardless of where you live — whether you're in your own rented home, living with family, or in a property arranged through a separate housing provider.
What we don't provide
Yellowbird does not own or manage SIL housing or properties. We deliver the support — including 24/7 rostered care arrangements — wherever you live. If you need help finding accommodation, your Support Coordinator can assist with that separately, and we can then come in as your chosen support provider.

How to get your supports in place
Get in touch
Call us or submit an enquiry. We'll talk through your support needs, NDIS plan, and what daily life looks like for you.
We meet with you
A Yellowbird team member will meet with you at home to understand your goals, routines, and preferences before any supports begin.
Your support begins
We match you with the right support worker and build a consistent, flexible schedule that fits your life — not a roster.

Service area
Where we deliver
Disability support is hands-on and in person. We will recruit your team or discuss welcoming your existing team across these areas. Start dates depend on recruitment, matching and your needs:
Outside these areas? Contact us — we may be able to assist depending on location.
NDIS Funding
Assistance with Daily Life
Disability support and domestic assistance are funded through your Core Supports budget under Assistance with Daily Life (01). This is the most common funding source for in-home support workers.
Supported Independent Living (SIL)
SIL is a separate NDIS funding line item for participants who need support to live as independently as possible in their own home. SIL quotes are assessed individually by the NDIA. Your Support Coordinator can help with the quoting process.
Home Care Package (HCP)
Yellowbird also works with older Australians funded through a Home Care Package. Speak with us about how we can support your home care goals alongside your package provider.
Not the right fit?
CareConnect — planned, not yet launched
We will recruit your team across MidCoast, Maitland, Dungog and Port Stephens LGAs and the Mid North Coast region, or discuss welcoming your existing team. Start dates depend on recruitment, matching and support needs. If we cannot meet your needs, we will discuss other options honestly. CareConnect is a separate planned marketplace, not yet launched.
